We communicate evangelism this way…Found People Find. No one technically “found” Jesus. But Jesus finds people every day. When you encounter Jesus and experience His life change, it is your responsibility and PLEASURE to find others and tell them your witness about Jesus. AND invite them to a place where they can be found too—His local church.
Why are we a compassionate church?
We believe that through Jesus, the local church is the hope of the world. Our church is about improving lives. Jesus died establishing the church. That’s commitment. That’s sacrifice. That’s why we love and “do” church the way we do…like we think Jesus would have done church.
We’re by no means perfect. We’ll say it a different way: we’re pretty messed up. God found us in a mess, and we take His transforming message of Grace and Hope to messed up lives and situations here—in our community, near—outside our community and there—the world. What we know about God, we practice and pursue. Some limp, some run, but we all move together towards discovering Godmore. By the way, we’re still a little messed up. So if you’re not perfect, don’t worry, you’ll fit right in.
Put this way, Saved People Serve, we encourage people to do radical things like serve without expecting anything in return. Serve others first, best, and beyond how you’d like to be served…that’s how we serve.
We wouldn’t dare raise your child…but we’re happy to resource you to help fulfill that awesome privilege. How dare we take that role and joy from any parent to model Christ for their child! But check this out: when your child is at our church, they will #1—have fun and #2—love church! Also, if a mentor does not exist in a child’s life, we’ll do our very best to fulfill that role for that child.
We have fun. ‘Nough said. We take God seriously, but not ourselves too much. It’s hard for us to imagine church not being fun! Who would want to be a part of something that’s not, fun!? “That church was sooo boring and lifeless…everyone was so down.” –said no one ever at our church. If you arrive with you head down and frowning—our prayer is that you leave with your head up and smiling.
We are passionate about God’s Word. We read it, memorize it, share it; but we refuse to use it in a way that is divisive, self serving and not building up. God’s Word brings clarity, instruction and peace. It is timeless and though it can make a few people upset; please take that up with God, He inspired it, not us.
THE MISSION OF THE WELL IS TO SEE PEOPLE CHANGED BY CHRIST, DRIVEN BY COMPASSION AND GROWING IN COMMUNITY.
OUR VISION IS A CHURCH WHERE: EVERYONE'S WELCOME, BECAUSE EVERBODY MATTERS, AND ANYTHING’S POSSIBLE!
We encourage people to do radical things like pray—not “God help me make all the green light prayers” but rather “God help me make lives around me better” type of prayers. We pray GSG’s type of prayers. A GSG is a “God-Sized-Goal” and unless He answers, it won’t be accomplished without His help.
PRAYING BIG PRAYERS
We don’t believe that God is our sugar daddy. Sometimes He blesses in ways that don’t have dead presidents’ image on the blessing. If you want a “prosperity gospel”, you can hear that preached somewhere else. We tithe all of “it”: money, time, resources and abilities. We are radically generous because the message of Christ dictates us too—and we do it cheerfully! Given To People Give Too so don’t be surprised that The Well is comprised of radically generous people.
We encourage people to rest. You heard us right: rest. That’s why our church calendar doesn’t have you feeling guilty by attending programs, functions, dinners, banquets, fundraisers, classes, small groups, mixers or services multiple times a week. If you can give us 3 hours a week, the rest is optional and open for you to enjoy—and rest. We also feel if we don’t crowd your calendar, then you’ll have time to do something super spiritual like a picnic with your loved ones, family game nights, host cookouts or heaven forbid actually meeting your neighbors.
